Argentina: Macri Cuts Taxes for Grain Producers
  • 8 years ago
Argentine President Mauricio Macri has taken a decisive step in his plans to roll back the policies of former President Cristina Fernandez. During an activity on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, Macri announced that in the coming hours, he would sign a decree to eliminate direct taxes on the export of big agribusiness corporations producing corn, wheat and beef. The decree will also lower taxes on soya, one of the country’s top agricultural exports. Macri promised to duplicate the country’s food production, but did not explain how. teleSUR
