The all-out assault on Christmas is un-American and just plain wrong

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE — As the holiday season quickly approaches, the War on Christmas is intensifying and it's taking no prisoners.
There are a lot of problems in the U.S., but none are as serious as the jolly old jihad on Christmas.

Just last week, the University of Tennessee at Knoxville warned its office workers not to throw Christmas parties because it may trigger some into feeling offended.

The memo "Best Practices for Inclusive Holiday Celebrations in the Workplace" was posted on the university's website by its Office of Diversity and Inclusion. It suggested that parties should celebrate workplace relationships without emphasizing a certain religion or culture.

It also included this little nugget of advice, "Ensure your holiday party is not a Christmas party in disguise."

The original memo was eventually replaced. UT Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek said in a statement, "the original version did not accurately convey our message."

The revised post said, "While it is inevitable that differences will appear in how people celebrate, everyone is encouraged to have an open mind and to approach every situation with sensitivity. We are grateful for the many people, cultures, and viewpoints of our campus. We should celebrate our diversity not only during the holidays but also on every day of the year."

It's as if Americans have forgotten what Christmas is all about. It's about having to listen to the same horrendous songs again and again, while being forced to watch those horrible Christmas movies … and something about mistletoe.

But most of all, it's about mass consumerism. Merry Christmas everyone!
