Navy's New Stealth Destroyer Becomes Part Of Rescue At Sea

The U.S.S. Zumwalt responded to a call for assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard after a fishing boat captain took ill with chest pains.


In the middle of conducting sea trials, U.S. Navy's new stealth destroyer, the Zumwalt, helped rescue a fisherman off the coast of Portland, Maine. 
Around 3 AM on Saturday, December 12th, the U.S. Coast Guard received a distress call from the 45-foot fishing boat Danny Boy. 
The captain of the vessel was experiencing chest pains and a helicopter was dispatched in order to “medevac” the sickly sailor to safety.
