Demonstrators protested efforts to impeach President Dilma Rousseff in Brasilia and in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday, charging that such an impeachment would put democracy at risk in the country. The Supreme Court temporarily suspended the impeachment process on Tuesday after Rousseff’s allies argued that a newly formed impeachment commission was formed amidst irregularities committed by the opposition, including a secret vote.
