Cows Milk Gathered At Night Shown To Have Calming, Sleep-Inducing Effect

Researchers have discovered that cows milk gathered at night can have calming, sleep-inducing effects.

For decades, many have reached for a glass of warm milk around bedtime as a means of settling into sleep with greater ease.

Now, studies are emerging that suggest a scientific connection among nighttime, milk and catching some z’s.

Researchers in South Korea found milk gathered from cows at night contains higher amounts both of melatonin and tryptophan than that procured during daylight hours.

Tests done on mice showed consuming night milk caused a decrease in activity levels and quickened the arrival of sleep.
