The latest upsurge in Palestinian resistance, which flared in October and shows no signs of abating, is damaging the Israeli economy. Tourism and hotel reservations are down 50% and transportation and trade has also been effected. Credit card purchases have fallen 11% as many Israelis prefer to remain at home to avoid the violence.
