Venezuela: Right-Wing Opposition Wins Parliamentary Majority

In a major political upset, Venezuela's right-wing opposition organized in the Democratic Unity Round Table (MUD) won a majority of seats in yesterday's legislative elections. The MUD won 99 seats against 46 for the Patriotic Pole, supporters of Hugo Chavez's Bolivarian Revolution. Three seats reserved for the country's indigenous population have yet to be defined and an additional 19 seats are still in dispute. teleSUR
