US wants to help Greece emerge from economic crisis, says Kerry

US secretary of state is visiting the Athens. John Kerry met with
the Greek foreign minister to discuss security after last month’s Paris attacks.

Also on the agenda was Greece’s relations with Turkey, Turkeys relations with Russia, energy, and the recent developments in Syria and how it pertains to Europe’s refugee crisis.

“We can not only resolve the problem of refugees but frankly do the most to encourage the prosperity and the stability of this region and to be able to bring in a greater security to the citizens of this country and others,” said Kerry at a joint news conference. “We are going to do everything in our power to push that over the course of the next several weeks.”

Kerry told Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras that the US wants to be as helpful as it can to see Greece emerge from its economic crisis and debt challenges.
