New Hampshire Officer Pays For Woman’s Shoplifted Birthday Cake Ingredients

Instead of arresting a woman who had stolen ingredients to bake her daughter a birthday cake, an police officer in New Hampshire paid for the items.

Last week, Portsmouth, New Hampshire police officer Michael Kotsonis was called to investigate a theft from an area store.

When he arrived at the home of the suspect, he found the merchandise in question – a cake mix, some Crisco, and frosting.

The woman said she’d stolen the ingredients because she couldn’t afford them but wanted to make a birthday cake for her daughter.
