Venezuela: Government Rejects Accusations
  • 8 years ago
The Venezuelan government flatly denies accusations made against it in two different cases, citing false claims made by Lilian Tintori, the wife of opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez, that the government is trying to kill her. It’s highly possible, however, said Vice President, Jorge Arreaza, that such a plot exists within the opposition for the purpose of destabilizing the elections. In the second case, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro also denied government responsibility in last week’s murder of opposition politician Luis Manuel Diaz, suggesting instead that his killers were his own criminal associates. teleSUR
