Venezuela: Right-Wing Opposition Planning Violence, Maduro Says
  • 8 years ago
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro charged that sectors of the country's right-wing opposition are paying supporters to disrupt election campaign events over the weekend and all of next week ahead of the December 6 legislative elections. In response to opposition claims that the killing of Democratic Action candidate Luis Manuel Diaz earlier this week was politically motivated, Maduro said the murder was most likely connected to the politician's ties to organized crime. teleSUR
