According to an announcement on the official Star Wars site, Google will launch a Star Wars virtual reality experience for Google Cardboard, the company's low-cost VR platform.
The experience, which launches on Dec. 2 as part of the official Star Wars app, "ties directly into the opening" of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is scheduled to hit cinemas Dec. 17.
Google's sudden adoration for Star Wars is part of a collaboration with Disney and Verizon.
On Monday, the company launched a mini-site which lets users choose between the light and the dark side and get "Star Wars"-themed versions of popular Google apps and services.
