Two groups of public sector workers in Peru are on strike. Administrative employees of the public health care system are demanding higher wages, better hospital equipment and working conditions, and the permanent hiring of "temporary workers" who are denied workplace benefits. They also oppose cuts in health spending and the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. Judicial branch employees are also on strike, demanding improved workplace infrastructure.
