FAYHA CHOIR Presentation

THE FAYHA CHOIR, funded and directed from 2003 by Barkev Taslakian, is an exemplary multicultural choir of Lebanon. It si is composed of nearly 40 males and females singers, from Tripoli who represent the Lebanese population with all its religions, social, political, economical affiliations. The choir’s repertoire includes Arabic (Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian, Palestinian, Iraqi, Bedwin, Andaloussi...) oriental, as well as French, English, Latin, Armenian and other songs. This diversity reflects the choir’s openness to the human heritage. Additionnally it has developped from 2009 a dozen of project choirs to working for social inclusion and peace through and thanks to choral singing with marginalized children in the public schools across Lebanon as well as with children of the Palestinian or Syrian refugees camps. These projects have reached about 10.000 children.
