Two dead in murder-suicide shooting at Florida Hospital in Tampa

TAMPA, FLORIDA — Two people were killed in an apparent murder-suicide at the Florida Hospital in Tampa around 7 a.m. on Monday, the Tampa Bay Times reported. Colonel Donna Luczynski with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office told Fox 13 that the gunman, identified as a white male, shot one woman before committing suicide by shooting himself. The victim Alonna Tedesco, 41, was taken to the emergency room, but she died shortly after from the gunshot wound. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the shooting happened in a single room on the third floor of the hospital. Luczynski told Fox 13 that Tedesco and the gunman were not employees or patients at the hospital. Police responded within two minutes to several 911 calls about the shooting. Authorities are still investigating and the hospital is operating as normal, except for the one room where the shooting occurred, Fox 13 reported.
