Dështon takimi i pare mes negociatoreve demokrate dhe socialiste, thirrur për te arritur një marrëveshje mbi emrin e presidentit te ri te republikës. Palët, e përfaqësuara ne nivel kryetar grupi parlamentar, u shprehen pas takimit qe zgjati rreth 1 ore, se ndajnë qëndrime shume te largëta nga njëra-tjetra. Socialisti Gramoz Ruçi propozoi thirrjen e një tryeze te te gjitha partive parlamentare, për te zgjidhur 4 çështje themelore, qe sipas tij, do t'i siguronin vendit statusin kandidat ne vjeshte. Ndërsa kreu i grupit demokrat Astrit Patozi pohoi pas takimit se gjithçka ishte një dështim, e deklaroi se mazhoranca aktuale është ne gjendje te zgjedhe edhe e vetme kreun e shtetit. Asnjëra nga palët nuk pohoi nëse do te ketë një takim tjetër para raundit te pare te votimit për presidentin, por ditën e premte kryeministri Berisha tha se nga e hëna do te flitet për emra kandidatesh.
