Colombia: 1 Campesino, Dead, 3 Seriously Wounded in Army Attack

The Colombian military attacked a campesino village in Cauca province, under the pretext of eradicating illegal crops used for producing drugs. In the ensuing confrontation, one peasant was killed and three wounded with serious injuries. Human rights advocate and Broad Front for Peace leader Piedad Cordoba criticized what she called the brutality of the army raid, in which soldiers arbitrarily entered homes and burned crops. teleSUR
