Amazon now offers two-factor authentication to make your account more secure
  • 8 years ago
Strong password is a necessity on sites that hold your financial information, but it's still not bulletproof when it comes to hacker attacks.
Two-factor authentication, which offers far better protection by requiring users to confirm their identity with an additional component, such as a code generated on their phone, is currently offered by most of the web's giants - and Amazon has finally joined them.
According to Engadget, the option to protect your Amazon account with two-factor authentication silently launched a few weeks ago, but it's now open to everyone.
While two-factor authentication adds a bit of a hassle to your login process, it's worth it, as it makes your account a lot safer from hacking attempts, even if someone manages to steal your password.
If you change your mind, you'll be able to turn off two-factor authentication later.
