Google Updates Android Wear Smartwatches With New Gestures And Cellular Support – STGIST
  • 8 years ago
Earlier this month, Google announced that the new Android Wear update supports cellular connectivity.
The feature lets users sync phones with smartwatches, and use the latter to call and text - even when the synced phone isn't near the watch.
Prior to the update, users can connect their Wear watches to phones using Bluetooth or WiFi.
The first Android Wear to support the new feature is the LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition, and it's coming soon to markets, including the United States.
It turns out the cellular connectivity feature is just the tip of the iceberg.
Google did include a bunch of new gestures to the update, meaning, Wear app developers can add a slew of new actions, and make their Android Wear apps edgy.
