Mexico: Rights Experts Slam Government Ayotzinapa Investigation

Over the weekend Mexico’s National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) charged that the Attorney General’s Office has failed to attend to 26 recommendations they made August, including new search strategies and interviews with military personnel. On the international level, the group of independent experts of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) announced the second phase of their mandate in the case, explaining that many contradictions persist in the government’s official investigation, including the lack of interviews with military personnel who may have been involved in the events.
