At least 17 people are dead and 40 missing after a dam burst at a mining waste site in the southwestern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The burst triggered a deluge of thick, red toxic mud that engulfed a village. The site is owned by Samarco, a joint venture between BHP and Vale. teleSUR
