Thousands of Refugees Held Up on Austrian-Slovenian Border as Temperatures Drop

Thousands of new refugees arrived on the Austrian-Slovenian border near Spielfeld, Austria, on Thursday, October 29, after 4,000 asylum-seekers were held up at the crossing the previous night as temperatures dropped near freezing. Bus services resumed in the morning bringing people to centres in Austria and to the German border. Austrian news media reported that by Thursday evening 3,500 refugees were waiting at the crossing.This video shows refugees waiting in Spielfeld early Wednesday evening.
