Colombia: Santos Offers Bilateral Ceasefire

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos accepted the repeated calls by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) for a bilateral ceasefire. He declared a bilateral ceasefire that is to begin on January 1, 2016, which will represent a tremendous breakthrough for the peace process. Santos explained that the truce would be contingent on an agreement on the final point in the peace talks agenda, on rebel demobilization and disarmament. teleSUR
