Hubble Images Reveal The Universe In Its Youth

The images show hundreds of faint galaxies that researchers believe played a prominent role in the formation of the universe as we know it.

The Hubble Space Telescope has seen the infancy of the universe.
New images show over 250 galaxies that existed between 600 and 900 million years after the Big Bang.
It took the light generated by these galaxies over 12 billion years to reach Hubble, but the long wait enabled astronomers to literally look back in time at the universe's baby steps.
The team that discovered the galaxies believes that some were instrumental in the formation of the universe as we know it.

Or, at least as we see it.
