A man was hiking in the mountains of Norway when he found a sword blade that has since tentatively been dated to 750 A.D.


A man was hiking on an established trail in the mountains of Norway when he spotted a sword lying underneath rocks. 
The wrought iron blade, which lacked a grip, has since been measured at more than 30 inches long and has been tentatively dated to 750 A.D., potentially making it more than 1,200 years old. 
A local government archaeologist has reportedly commented that the well-preserved sword could be put to use again simply by adding a handle and polishing the metal.
