Millennials are approaching their weddings differently than older generations by preferring more secular options in terms of the venue and officiant.

Millennials are changing the wedding landscape.
According to the New York Times, the city clerk’s office has reported that weddings at the Manhattan marriage bureau have jumped by almost 50 percent since 2008. 
This increase has been attributed to the legalization of same-sex marriage and then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s efforts to make the bureau a more exciting place to get married.
