Lucky paratrooper saved by automatic release reserve parachute

A lucky paratrooper, who had a problem deploying his main parachute, was reportedly saved just in the nick of time when his reserve parachute system automatically deployed.

The moment was caught on camera this month over Bucharest, Romania. You can see the paratrooper falling at a fast speed before his Cybernetic Parachute Release System (CYPRES) kicks in.

CYPRES is designed to activate the reserve parachute at a pre-set altitude if the rate of descent is over a certain threshold.
