L'il Stevie Harper

What happened during Mr. Harper's childhood to scar him so deeply, and make him act so nastily towards artists?

This video 'mashup' is inspired by Harper's public claim that "most Candadians don't care abouts arts & arts funding", and that artists are "publicly subsidized whiners". New dialogue was added to 'public domain' footage from a 1950s 'Sunbean Bread' TV commercial to comically dramatize a bad day from Stephen Harper's childhood.

The film was created by Toronto filmmaker Brian Smith for the 'Department of Culture' and their '30 Seconds and Gone' video contest in 2008. It won first prize.
