Haiti, Dominican Republic Resume Bilateral Relations
  • 9 years ago
Haiti and the Dominican Republic have agreed to return their ambassadors to their posts and reinitiate overland trade between the two countries. Relations deteriorated sharply in July after the government of Santo Domingo clamped down on Haitian descendants who were never able to obtain identity papers in the Dominican Republic. Presidents Michel Martelly and Danilo Medina reached the agreements at their first official meeting since last year. teleSUR
