Peace Puts Future of Colombia's Military in Question

How the Colombian armed forces will be reshaped once a final peace agreement has been reached between the government and the FARC rebels is uncertain. The U.S. and NATO will be helping to review the country's military doctrine, while President Juan Manuel Santos has agreed to commit 5,000 Colombian troops to UN peace keeping missions.
