Demented Saudi employer chops Indian housemaid?s arm off

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA ? An Indian domestic helper living in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, who attempted to flee the home where she had been working for three months allegedly had her arm chopped off by her employer in a vicious and disturbing attack, according to a BBC report.
Kasturi Munirathinam says that when she begged her employer to allow her to return to India, following repeated alleged incidents of harassment, the employer refused and locked her inside the home.
Left with no other option, the 58-year-old says she next, using saris as a rope, attempted to escape through the home's third floor window.
Her attempt proved unsuccessful as she was discovered by her employer who she says next cut off her right arm.
Munirathinam is currently recovering in stable condition at a local hospital, but family members say she'll never be the same.
"When she tried to escape the harassment and torture, her right arm was chopped off by the woman employer," said Munirathinam's son S Kumar to BBC Hindi. "Now my sister can't even sit and do simple things on her own, as her spinal cord has also been injured," added her sister S Vijayakumari.
The incident has drawn harsh condemnation from Indian officials including Sushma Swaraj, the country's minister of external affairs who took to Twitter to express her frustration, saying "This is unacceptable. We have taken this up with Saudi authorities."
While Saudi officials appear to be staying mum on the attack, the employer allegedly behind the attacks has been taken into custody, according to the Times of India.
