Bolivia: People’s Summit to Take Proposals to Paris in November

More than 2,000 people from more than 40 countries gathered at the People’s Climate Change Summit to call for a cleaner, greener planet. Presidents Morales of Bolivia, Maduro of Venezuela and Correa of Ecuador all attacked capitalism as being the root cause of climate change. Bolivia has developed a 10-point plan to send to the COP 21 Summit in Paris in November, but many fear that the largest emitters of greenhouse gases will ignore a proposal for an international environmental court of justice and will not honor a pledge of US$100 billion a year to fight climate change.
