Supply Of Pumpkins For Baking Likely Halved By Wet Weather

Libby’s, the world’s biggest brand of canned pumpkin, is reporting that its supply will likely be reduced by about half this year due to unusually wet weather which limited crop production.

Some Thanksgiving meals may be missing one important ingredient this year.
Extremely wet weather has been blamed for a low crop yield of pumpkins used for baking.
In fact, a representative of Nestlé Corp. which owns Libby’s, the most popular brand of canned pumpkin, has urged consumers to buy the product now to ensure that they’ll be able to make the classic pie for the holidays.
