LAS VEGAS-- A Nevada family are feeling extremely happy and relieved after their missing pit bull was returned to them via a good samaritan.

According to Fox 5 Vegas, Blue, went missing on Monday night during a thunderstorm when she encountered two dirtbags, who started beating her.

Her owners, the Morrison family, explained that Blue has a habit of trying to escape the house during storms, but this time she managed to get out.

Luckily, Lee Coffman, was driving and spotted the two men viciously attacking Blue.

The Army veteran told Fox 5 Vegas he didn't want to start trouble but couldn't bare to see Blue being attacked so he had to step in. Once he got out his car, the two men fled.

After rescuing her, he kept Blue overnight and took her to the veterinarian the next morning. The vet scanned Blue?s microchip, which then led to her being reunited with the Morrisons.
