BMW i3 Review: Does The Company's First All-Electric Vehicle Work In The Real World?

On my last day with the BMW i3, I drove downtown on the West Side Highway in Manhattan, eager to return the car and head home. Around 34th Street, I lowered the windows to let some of the harbor air pass through the car, looking for some relief after a long day’s shooting. I heard a familiar beeping coming from my right; It was a white BMW i8, piloted by a man so overjoyed to see my little electric car, he nearly tore a tendon flashing an overenthusiastic thumbs-up. I looked over, matched his smile and his gesture, and for the first time in the week I’d spent with the i3, fully appreciated the white box’s charm.
