A United States university is suing the CIA to force it to release information over war crimes committed in El Salvador by a US backed army officer. Retired Salvadoran Army Officer Sigifredo Ochoa is currently under a criminal investigation for his complicity in a massacre in Santa Cruz in 1981. He is accused of killing hundreds of civilians during El Salvador’s brutal crackdown. On Monday the University of Washington’s Center for Human Rights filed a lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act, alleging that the CIA is illegally withholding information on the massacre. teleSUR
