Guatemala: Rains May Hamper Search for Survivors
  • 9 years ago
The search continues in Guatemala for survivors of the mudslide with a death toll of 161. To make matters worse, new rains are predicted, which could hamper the search for the more than 300 people still missing. The El Cambray II neighborhood in Santa Catarina Pinula lies in a ravine so deep that rescue workers are descending through narrow shafts. The neighborhood has been declared uninhabitable by Guatemala’s Disaster Reduction Commission. teleSUR
