Russian Air Force Gets Green Light for Syria Missions

The Russian Federation Council approved the deployment of the country's Air Force in Syria, at a meeting held behind closed doors in Moscow on Wednesday. Russia will use its Air Force against the Islamic State in Syria at the request of Syrian President Bashar Assad, said Sergei Ivanov, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia. "The use of land forces is excluded," he stressed.
