Jim Carrey's ex dies of apparent suicide

Jim Carrey's ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White, has died of an apparent suicide, according to reports.
Reuters reports that White, an Irish-born make-up artist who was pictured out with Carrey in the past several months, was found dead in her Los Angeles apartment on Monday night, according to Los Angeles deputy chief coroner Ed Winter.
In a statement to USA TODAY, Carrey said he was stricken by the news.
"I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona," says Carrey.
"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.
My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her.
We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
