Three men assaulted the Vice-President of a production house over parking when he was visiting a temple in south east Delhi's Govindpuri on Sunday afternoon (September 20). Sanjeev Kumar had to undergo a surgery on a fractured hand on Monday. Kumar, who lives in Govindpuri along with his wife Gyaneshwari, a private company employee, and their two children, aged 3 and 2 years, had gone to visit Ravidas temple around 1PM. When the family came out of the temple, they found a Zen Estilo blocking the way of their Honda City. "A couple who owned the second car came after an hour. When Kumar told them about the inconvenience, they started abusing Kumar," said a police official. A heated argument followed, and the other man made a call and two people arrived on a motorcycle within minutes with hockey sticks and rods, alleged Kumar. "They first thrashed him badly in front of his family. When Kumar resisted, the three men started beating him up with the sticks and the rods. Kumar received injuries on his head, waist and hands. His wife tried to call people but no one came forward. She also received minor injuries while trying to shield Kumar," the officer said. The accused soon fled the spot. Kumar had to undergo a CT Scan at a hospital before the surgery. The car used by the couple and the bike have been identified, police said.
