Venezuelan, Colombian Presidents to Address Border Issues
  • 9 years ago
Today's meeting between the presidents of Venezuela and Colombia, Nicolas Maduro and Juan Manuel Santos, will address three issues in the border crisis between the two countries: massive smuggling of subsidized Venezuela goods and fuel into Colombia, activity by Colombian paramilitary forces in the area, and drug trafficking. The mediation by the Ecuadoran and Uruguayan presidents underscores the interest of CELAC and UNASUR in resolving the conflict. Liz Scherffius reports from Quito. teleSUR
