Mexico: PRI Rejects Declaring Day of Enforced Disappearances
  • 9 years ago
In a debate in the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) rejected a proposal to declare September 26 as "Day of Condemnation of Enforced Disappearances in Mexico". September 26 is the first anniversary of the enforced disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students, and the PRI proposes that the date be declared Day of Victims of Ayotzinapa. The Mexican government has come under increasing criticism for its handling of the investigation into the students' disappearance. teleSUR
