Obama Repeats Call to Lift Embargo, Activists Take Demand to Streets

President Barack Obama has once again urged the U.S. Congress to take bipartisan steps towards lifting what he calls the embargo against Cuba. Activists in the United States, Canada and Latin America called a day of action against the blockade in Washington. Activities will continue all week to demand that Congress unconditionally lift the unilateral measure. They also call for the closure of the Guantanamo Bay military base and the lifting of flight restrictions against Cuba. U. S. Representative James McGovern joined their march.
