Argentina Says Spanish Company Joined Vulture Fund to Commit Fraud

Argentine judicial authorities have accused a Spanish company of joining a vulture fund in order to commit fraud against the state, which would mean billions of dollars in losses. Two public prosecutors have filed a complaint against Marsans and the Burford Capital hedge fund, alleging that behind this move is a fraudulent maneuver that seeks to deceive the court into ruling against Argentina’s interests. If these two companies were to win the court battle, Argentina would have to pay more than US$1.6 billion to Burford Capital. Laureano Ponce reports from Buenos Aires for teleSUR
