Anwar appeals for calm

Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, who also attended the press conference, appealed for calm, even as the opposition plans a major protest at the chief minister's residence later Thursday.
"I would like to thank the Perak sultan for addressing this issue and I hope that this situation will not dissolve into violence and that the whole democratic process should be allowed to take its course," he said.
