Tengku Adnan: Chinese will not be sidelined

Barisan Nasional (BN) Secretary-General Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said today that the government will not neglect the Chinese voters in Hulu Selangor.

"We cannot take back the allocation for the Chinese. There are also Chinese who have voted for BN in the by-election," he explained when asked if the government will heed the suggestions of Perkasa chairman Ibrahim Ali.

The independent MP had earlier suggested that the Chinese voters in Hulu Selangor should be punished by the government for not voting MIC candidate P Kamalananthan.

Tengku added that since BN is a multiracial party, they need to help the rakyat irrespective of their race, religion or "whatever their beliefs are".
