Se7en's "Box Scene" - Art of the Scene
What’s in the box? If those four words called to mind the 1995 serial killer thriller Se7en you know the answer… and a chill just shivered down your spine. Today, we're looking at the gory climax of David Fincher’s Se7en.

Se7en is a master class in setup and payoff and the final scene helped make a connect-the-dots police procedural an instant classic. It’s an ending that never would have happened if the studio had their way. Everything from the camera movements to the way Kevin Spacey highlights specific words bring out the artistry of the scene and evoke unease as we watch Detective Mills unravel.

So much of this movie came together due to a series of mistakes and rejections. First choice actors and directors weren’t interested, Fincher was accidentally sent an earlier draft of the script, the cinematographer had to leave before reshoots... all came together to create one of the most intense movies with one of the most unsettling endings of all time.

What did you think? Did you learn something new about the final scene of Se7en? What do you think is the most mind-blowing scene in movie history? What other scenes would you like us to explore in future episodes?
