Ahmedabad tops suicide hotspots in state - Tv9 Gujarati

The city reported more than 450 suicides in 2010, and its increasing year by year. There has been a sudden rise in suicides due to financial conditions and extortion by loan sharks, love or exam failure related suicides . Every year, September 10 is observed as World Suicide Prevention Day where the efforts are made to keep a tab on number of suicides and find ways to prevent it. Measures like early detection, prevention, attitude development to seek help, survivor care and initiative to improve mental health of youth.
