BRASIL VS USA 4-1 ALL GOALS AND HIGHLIGHTS

Klinsmann warned the United States men's national team about "having too much respect" for Brazil. Make that mistake and the consequence would be devastating.

Tuesday's friendly in Foxborough, Mass., wasn't a case of the Americans having too much respect. It was more about being outclassed by one of the world's most talented sides happily showing off its awe-inspiring offensive firepower. A desultory defensive display by the U.S. also played a huge factor as the Selecao steamrolled their way to a 4-1 victory at Gillette Stadium.

Brazil needed just nine minutes to take the lead courtesy of an easy finish in the box by Hulk, then ran roughshod over Klinsmann's men in the second half. Not surprisingly, the onslaught began shortly after Neymar stepped onto the field as a halftime substitute. The Barcelona star scored twice, his tallies sandwiched around Rafinha's first goal for Brazil.

The Americans entered the game looking to build off a 2-1 win last Friday, a come-from-behind effort sparked by Jozy Altidore's two goals. Also, it was crucial to make the most of this final exhibition match before the Oct. 10 playoff against Mexico to decide CONCACAF's Confederations Cup representative.

But there are few positives to take away from Tuesday's blowout. The U.S. hung tough after Hulk gave Brazil the early lead, but the 1-0 halftime deficit would be the Americans' lone moral victory of the night.
Neymar ran onto David Luiz's superb long ball and drew contact in the box from Geoff Cameron to win a penalty. He had enough power on his spot kick to force it off and past the fingertips of goalkeeper Brad Guzan to make it 2-0 Brazil in the 51st minute.
Rafinha showed off some fancy footwork in the box to find space and beat Guzan for a 3-0 cushion in the 64th minute.
Three minutes later, Neymar got his second of the night to make it 4-0.
Mistakes were made by Klinsmann as well. In a rare admission, even for a friendly, the coach substituted Alejandro Bedoya before halftime after starting the Nantes midfielder again in a holding role next to Jermaine Jones. Bedoya, who has proven to be effective on either side of midfield, again made little impact and was unceremoniously yanked for Danny Williams in the 36th minute.
Williams nabbed the U.S.'s only goal with a strike from distance in stoppage time.
