Some 140,000 passengers affected by latest Lufthansa strike

Some 140,000 passengers have been affected by the second day of a pilots' strike at German airline Lufthansa. A total of 1,000 short-haul flights were cancelled because of the strike action which has been staged of the dispute over pay and early retirement conditions. It is the 13th walkout by the pilots in the past year and a half. Also today, Japan's stock market has seen its best day in seven years.
